TWINS & TRIPLET MATERNITY NURSE

Job Finder has a selection of specialist Twins or Triplet Maternity Nurses who have experience with multiple births and can support and assist you with the needs of your new borns. Our Maternity Nurses can solve problems in your new twins or triplets, helping you to identify and solve problems that can occur, as an example:

  • Uneven sleeping rhythms
  • Reverse cycling, when babies are more awake during the day than the night
  • Lactose intolerance, an allergy to milk sugar
  • Constipation
  • GERD, a particularly bad form of acid reflux that causes severe distress on feeding
  • Lower birth weight, that needs frequent feeding, almost every 2 hrs 24 hrs a day

Twins and triplets are more likely to be born prematurely and spend time in neonatal care, where they’re used to being touched and nursed frequently. They may miss this contact and find it hard to settle when they come home. Having twins is definitely a double dose of joy, but parents of twins or triplets will admit that it is not easy. There are definitely some challenges when you have twins. Coping with two babies is harder than coping with just one, so it may take you longer to get into a routine that suits you. That’s why a Maternity Nurse with Multiple Birth Experience could be a great asset for your family and she could build your confidence as parents by teaching you and providing you with the support and advice you will need to introduce new babies into your lives.

Maternity Nurses have a wealth of experience to offer to you as new parents, they are a great source of help and advice; not only about the development and wellbeing of the babies but also that of the new mother. Duties include: feeding (or assisting with), bathing, changing and settling the babies, as well as taking care of the babies’ laundry and the nursery when they will have time.

All of our specialist Nurses are experienced with newborn Twins & Triplet babies; generally most of them will have qualifications such as the MNT or NEST certificates. Sometime this is in conjunction with other nanny, nursing or midwifery qualifications. All candidates will have a Pediatric first Aid certificates and an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
